New tax on empty houses: How much will you have to pay according to the new housing law?
In this sense, the new regulations also contemplate changes in what refers to empty homes. A surcharge that can reach 150% in the IBI
In this sense, the municipal consistories may apply a surcharge on the Property Tax (IBI) of up to 150% in these cases. As stated by the Idealista real estate portal, an empty home will be considered to be one that remains unoccupied continuously for a period of more than two years, except in certain justified cases, and provided that the landlord owns four or more properties.
